We are looking for a talented, self-motivated social media manager to run our social media accounts. You will be responsible for working with our Content Team to develop social media content that speaks to the needs and sensibilities of our Black Christian audience.

As a Social media manager, we expect you to be up-to-date with the latest digital technologies and social media trends. You should have excellent communication and collaboration skills, be a self-motivated visionary, and be able to express our organization’s values creatively.

Ultimately, you should be able to handle our social media presence ensuring high levels of engagement.

Responsibilities
● Design and implement social media strategy to align with
organizational goals
● Set specific objectives and work to accomplish them
● Generate, edit, publish and share engaging content daily (e.g.
original text, photos, videos, and news) on all social media
platforms
● Monitor SEO and web traffic metrics
● Collaborate with the Content Team, our content creators, and
organizational leadership
● Communicate with followers, respond to queries in a timely manner
and monitor follower engagement
● Communicate to a Black Christian audience that sees activism as
an extension of their faith

● Oversee social media accounts’ design (e.g. Facebook timeline
cover, profile pictures)
● Suggest and implement new features to develop brand awareness,
like promotions and competitions
● Stay up-to-date with current technologies and trends in social
media, design tools, and applications

Requirements
● Proven work experience as a Social media manager
● Hands-on experience in content management
● Excellent copywriting skills
● Ability to deliver creative content (text, image, and video)
● Solid knowledge of SEO, keyword research and Google Analytics
● Knowledge of online marketing channels
● Excellent communication skills
● Excellent collaborative skills
● The ability to be self-motivated, self-disciplined, and a self-starter
● A trailblazing spirit that seeks to improve and not just maintain
● A passion for activism
● Analytical and multitasking skills
● A degree in marketing or a related field is a plus, but not required
