pass the mic atlantaJuly 23, 2018— “Pass the Mic,” a podcast focused on the intersection of culture, race, and religion, is coming to Atlanta this week on July 27th! Hosted by Ph.D. history student Jemar Tisby and Pastor Tyler Burns, “Pass the Mic” focuses on discussing current events and issues of Christianity, politics, culture, and race.

“We are thrilled that Atlanta is the next stop in our inaugural live show tour,” said Tisby. “As the birthplace of Martin Luther King Jr. and home of Morehouse College, Atlanta has a rich and vibrant civil rights history and we’re excited to visit this great city to record our show. Atlanta is the fourth stop of our 2018 national tour and we are excited to connect with our listeners through our live recording.”

In addition to a live show recording, the program will feature a performance from author, spoken word poet, and Atlanta resident: Amena Brown. The show will be at Cornerstone Atlanta, 1450 Ralph David Abernathy Blvd SW, Atlanta, GA 30310. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the show will begin at 7 p.m.

With more than 440,000 downloads in 2018’s first quarter, “Pass the Mic” boasts an international listenership and facilitates a vibrant Facebook community to discuss the show’s episodes.
