Ask Trump and Clinton How They’ll Respond to Unprecedented Global Persecution

“Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves; ensure justice for those being crushed.” (Proverbs 31:8)

One of the issues that didn’t come up in the first presidential debate was the topic of persecution of Christians around the world. Open Doors USA is pushing to get the two major candidates to speak out on persecution.

You can do your part simply by signing these two petitions, one for each candidate.

Spokeswoman Emily Fuentes says they’re hitting this hard on social media. “We’re proposing meetings with the different candidates to see if they will come and meet with us to learn more about Christian persecution, and we would love to know what their platform is going to be, what their plan of action is,” she tells OneNewsNow.

Fuentes hopes this thrust will set the stage for persecution to be a topic in one of the future debates.

“And the hope would be that this could come as a question from the moderator or a question from those in the audience who are able to attend these events,” she says. “We’re just really trying to get the word out, so it can become a top issue in many different facets.”

Fuentes says Open Doors USA will be holding discussions on Facebook Live during the debates and also has a petition circulating urging the candidates to address the issue of Christian persecution.

“There are a lot of different plans of action that the candidates could do,” she says. “We just want to hear what it is, so it’s not just words but an actual plan.”
