    Excellent. Thanks!

  2. Mezzula5 says:

Maybe sista Burrell ought to practice what she teaches from her Bible:
    1 Corinthians 14:34-35
34 Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also saith the law.
35 And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.
(and they wonder why the ‘world’ calls them hypocrites…)

    1. AMIII says:

This was one of my initial thoughts as well. Why in the name of true Christianity is she a female pastor?

      Be blessed.

    2. ReformedMom says:

      I am a woman, and I agree 100%!

Beautifully written, sir. As a Christian (who happens to be black), I find it frustrating that more emphasis is given to outward behavior, appearances, etc., than the inward need for regeneration. I suspect that many African-American evangelicals use this approach, because A). This is what they witnessed growing up, and B). many of them have superficial, legalistic relationship God themselves. It is hard to share bread with someone, when you’ve never eaten it yourself. Grace by nature is scandalous, so we shouldn’t be surprised that it seems too good to be true. But we mustn’t tamper with grace, and insist that the sinner clean up BEFORE coming to Christ, much like we shouldn’t clean up before taking a bath. As you stated earlier, a dead person cannot respond to correction, no matter how biblically sound it is, unless he has been awakened by the Holy Spirit. To seek rebuke before repentance, is to put the cart before the horse.

May God continue to bless you tremendously, brother, for shining the light of Christ, and for “proclaiming the excellencies of Him who called us out of darkness, into His marvelous light” (1 Pet. 2:9)!!
