The mission of the Reformed African American Network is to fuel modern reformation in the African American community with a global mindset by addressing the core concerns of African Americans.

As a network, we are excited to announce the addition of our new staff members. These individuals have exemplified love and zeal for the work of the Gospel through RAAN and we are looking forward to what the Lord will do through them during their time at RAAN.

IMG_0379Lea Coker joins RAAN as an associate editor. Coker is a graduate of Belhaven University, where she received a B.A. in creative writing. She currently lives with her husband in Madrid, Spain and works as an English language assistant in a public high school. As a language assistant, she helps further the students’ education in the English language and American culture.

Elodie Quetant joins RAAN as an associate editor. Quetant was born in St. Maarten to Haitian parents, but spent most of her growing up years in Florida. She currently resides in Toronto, Canada, where she is finishing up her professional writing degree at York University. She serves with Fight for Freedom, an organization that reaches out to sex slaves. You can follow her on Twitter.

Lathea Miskel joins RAAN as the director of communications. Miskel was born in Louisiana and grew up in Bay Minette, Alabama. She will soon graduate from the University of South Alabama, where she is receiving a B.A. in communication (with a concentration in public relations). Upon graduation she plans to work in the public relations field and hopes to one day attend seminary to become a counselor.

John Richards_BW_SJohn Richards joins RAAN as the managing editor. Richards is a native of Brunswick, Georgia. He is an editorial director at UrbanMinistries, Inc. in Chicago and the managing editor of, an online community that cultivates pivotal commentary on culture and faith. John received a B.A. from Morehouse College, a J.D. from Howard University, and an M.Div. from Fuller Theological Seminary. He is married with two children—one of whom is expected to arrive in February.
