First, I want to say that I absolutely love what you all are doing here. I think it’s important that we white people have a sense of what it means to be a Christian and an ethnic minority in America. That said, when I was listening to this podcast, it seemed like some of the things described as white privilege had more to do with economic gaps, particularly the part about connections that white people are more likely to have. Many white people who come from families in poverty experience the same things: social isolation, lower quality education, etc. I’m not denying white privilege, but for white people in poverty, the special opportunities granted to minorities (like the grants) have the appearance of giving privilege to the minorities. I guess what I’m getting at is that race is not always the issue, but poverty is always an issue.

I really do want to have a clear understanding of the plight of the underprivileged because they need the gospel, so I welcome feedback and correction.
