(Re)Introducing: The Witness Foundation

The Witness

The Witness Foundation, founded by Jemar Tisby in 2019, is a philanthropic organization that seeks to identify, train, and fund the next generation of Black Christian leaders. The Witness Foundation is a subsidiary of The Witness Incorporated, and sister organization to The Witness Black Christian Collective.

The centerpiece of the Witness Foundation is its newly-developed Fellowship program that will award five Fellows with $50,000 annually for the two-year fellowship. The Witness Foundation will work with fellows who represent diverse perspectives and unite in advancing the work of Black Christians and their communities.

The Witness

The Witness is a non-profit, faith-based media organization that engages issues of religion, race, justice, and culture from a biblical perspective. The Witness consciously draws on the expansive black church tradition to address matters of personal faith while also speaking to issues of public righteousness through blog posts, feature-length articles, podcasts, and live reporting.
